Since the founding of CTPO, our professional staff has been working hard to ensure the patient and the referring doctor receive the best service offered. As a partner in out patients’ health care, we continually strive to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. We take the time to answer questions about health concerns and insurance issues, and are committed to providing care and service that surpasses expectations.
CTPO is proud to be accredited by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics & Prosthetics. CTPO was one of the first O&P practices in the nation to be accredited by ABC. CTPO is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists, and a member of the Amputee Coalition of America. CTPO is considered a Point Premier Center of Excellence, and is an orthotic and prosthetic provider for the VA hospital.
American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (ABC)
ABC sets the standards for orthotic/prosthetic students, practitioners and practices. ABC is responsible for credentialing orthotists and prosthetists through education and residency programs. For a practitioner, the ABC accreditation process is rigorous, and is maintained through standards compliance and continuing education. CTPO is an ABC accredited facility and residency site. American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists
The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists is dedicated to promoting professionalism and advancing the standards of patient care through education, literature, research, advocacy and collaboration. Academy is dedicated to: (1) attainment of the highest standards of technical competence and ethical conduct by its members; (2) the professional recognition of qualified practitioners; (3) the assurances that practitioners who apply for or are admitted to membership maintain high standards of professional conduct; and (4) collaboration with other educational, research and related organizations in developing technical and ethical standards for the profession of orthotics and prosthetics. Amputee Coalition of America
The Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) is a national, non-profit amputee consumer educational organization representing people who have experienced amputation or are born with limb differences. The ACA operates on the strongly held principle that education enables individuals who have lost a limb to participate knowledgeably in decisions about their own care, services and outcomes. To achieve their highest potential, people with limb loss must play the central role in decisions affecting their lives. Point Premier Prosthetic & Orthotic Center of Excellence
POINT’s mission is “to function as a vehicle for independent, ABC accredited, orthotic and prosthetic facilities to compete with the large, national and regional firms in the managed care healthcare environment.” POINT members must be independently owned facilities who believe in patient centered focus, not a profit maximization focus.
